Adolphus Simeon Solomons (b. 1826, New York City-d. 1910), helped establish the American Red Cross, organizing the first training school for nurses in Washington, D.C. and the Washington Night Lodging-House Association. He was an officer of the Provident Aid Society and the Emergency Hospital of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. In New York, he helped organize Mt.
